I got pretty tired of Dr. Phil and other talking heads telling me that no one chooses to be a stripper. So I wrote a book about it.
Dirty Money is my debut book, initially self-published in 2015. It emerged from a desire to counter the narratives that mainstream media kept pushing about women in the exotic dance industry — the assumption of damage, of coercion, of regret. I wanted to present an alternative perspective: that dancing was, for me, an overall empowering choice.
The book underwent revision and was reissued with updated cover art in February 2022. Amazon declined to promote the new design, which prompted me to revert to the original cover while incorporating the newer design internally. A small but clarifying encounter with how platforms quietly regulate content about sex work.
This book is kind of my baby. My whole life I wanted to be a writer, and this book is my first leap into that realm. It is available on Amazon — and if you want a signed copy, just reach out.
