Erin wrote this book after becoming a secular advocate and skeptic. It is focused on critical thinking and humanism, inspired by Christopher Hitchens, Penn Jillette, Carl Sagan, Mary Roach, and a wealth of skeptic, science, and philosophy writers.
Throughout the book, Erin uses analogies and anecdotes from her time as a stripper to explain the concepts she learned. As she puts it: "Turns out it is a self help book, but I swear I didn't know that's what I was writing at the time. But check it out anyway, I dazzle with tales of boobs and lap dances, then BOOM!
